Lantern Yard

A night concert at a mountain temple. Jump on the beat to go higher and higher, past the lanterns and the mountains, all the way to space, where a gentle word appears in the sky.

While you stay

CalmOn — an online temple to rest in

CalmOn is an online temple metaverse: a Korean mountain temple you walk in 3D. It is a calm place to stay a while, not a game: no scores, competition or levels. It opens in any phone, tablet or PC browser, with iOS and Android apps on the way.

Begin before the great Buddha

You arrive in the courtyard of a great seated Buddha on the mountain. From the One-Pillar Gate a winding forest path climbs past the Heavenly Kings Gate, the lotus pavilion and the bell pavilion, to a lotus pond, stepping stones and a stone arch bridge over the valley.

Walk several temples

A Lotus Temple whose Great Hall stands beyond the lotus fields, a Ginkgo Temple where a valley path leads to a thousand-year ginkgo before the Main Hall, a seaside hermitage and a hillside rest stop. Blossoms, green, autumn leaves and snow follow the Korean seasons.

Simple gestures

Join palms, bow, strike the moktak, count prayer beads or sit with one tap. Strike the great bell yourself, light wish candles and lotus lanterns, water your own tree once a day and carry a fortune pouch for the day.

The Memorial Garden

A garden to remember pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Under the meeting tree, call your pet with one photo and a name; a memorial stone (photo, name, years together, a line) takes its place along the garden path, with a tree growing beside it. Visitors can leave a candle, flowers or a note, and you can invite family to remember together. The stone and tree never wither or disappear.

Moments at set times

In Korean time: the dawn moktak round at 6:00, a great lotus at 7:30 and 17:00, the evening bell at 18:00 and a meteor shower at 20:00 and 22:00. Everyone present sees the same moment, and you can send a short wish up with the meteors.

Share a photo

Take a photo in portrait, story or wide frames and share it as a card with the place and date. Whoever opens the link starts at that spot.

Together, quietly

You see others walking, sitting and bowing, but people only exchange set greetings. It is fine to come alone.
